HI all, looking for suggestions on a new power supply to buy later today or tomorrow. PC Specs:

    Thermaltake Armor+ Case
AMD Phenom II X4 955 (3.79 max so far, couldn't hit 3.8 with stock cooling)
    ASUS M4A78T-E mobo
4GB OCZ AMD Black Edition DDR3 1600 (stable to 1800 so far, again need more cooling)
MSI ATI Radeon HD 4890 Cyclone (haven't tested max yet)
X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Sound Card
(along with 1500 gigs of SATA 3.0GB/s and 2 ASUS SATA DVD Combos)
Current power supply WAS 680watts but it's getting up in years (near 5) and on the way out.

im also working on building a phase cooling unit for my CPU and when it's done im going to overclock it a good bit (hoping mid to high 4ghz area) TDP should end up about 180-190 watts

I've been looking at the new XFX 750watt unit and from reviews it looks good but being new im unsure of it. does anyone have some suggestions on good PSUs to get to fuel my needs?

I you can, go Corsair, i would recommend the TX or HX 750w PSU's for you, the TX model is not modular, HX is. The HX is quite a bit more expensive.

However browsing for a PSU for myself this week i came across the Coolermaster 700w Silent Pro modular, it is £80 ($100) and packs 50A on the 12v rail, in other terms, is just as good as the Corsair one! It has Japanese capacitors AND a 5 year warranty.

Sorry for the UK link if you live in the US!

yeah i was looking at the corsairs but in my reading and research i found that alot of corsair on the upper end on wattage have a higher than acceptable DOA rate. i was looking at a corsair 900 watt TX but half the reviews on it where a DOA or RMA required some of them even frying the computer :eek . maybe it was just a bad run... this is the XFX i was looking at
    XFX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817207003
    Corsair HX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139011
    Corsair TX: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139013

the XFX is modular, but has less total output, and is 80 plus silver
the Corsair is a has more total output, NOT modular, and is only 80 plus bronze and is getting some bad reviews..

As for the cooler master, there company takes part is a lil scheme to mis convey the internals of the power supply, even though they advertise "Japanese capacitors" only the primary capacitors are Japanese. meaning the rest of the secondaries are the same low quality that is used in cheapo power supplies. because of that i don't think i'd buy from them.

ok well after my last post my current psu took a complete dump and cut out, went to the local computer shop and found a Corsair TX850W for $179 (i know cheaper online but i needed it today) installed it made the cables run all nice, powered up without any problems... my computer even running faster now that it's got enough power.
