I need a program to..

unzip things.. I have winrar, and I can't stand the nag screen anymore. There has to be something free here, and I don't really know my way around enough to find anything. Suggestions? :cool

 

7-zip free (not shareware), and does all the formats WinRAR does....

 

There are two great free zip programs that i know of.

Another is 7-ziphttp://www.7-zip.org/
To me 7-zip is the best.

 

yeah 7-zip works just fine for me, i would recommend it.

 

For unpacking zip and rar I use the built-in tool in my file manager FreeCommander. For other archive formats I use Universal Extractor, which is a simple drag&drop interface and works very fast. (Unpacks only, does not create compressed archives of any kind)

I also use and really like PeaZip for compressing and de-compressing all kinds of archive formats. It is a bit smaller than 7zip, but handles a few more formats, and interface is much simpler to use.

TUGZip http://www.majorgeeks.com/TUGZip_d4670.html (I use this on my home PC and recommend it to EVERBODY!)
7Zip http://www.majorgeeks.com/7-Zip_d4603.html (also really good, but I like TUG better )
Both are 100% free, no nags, no limits...
