I need an upgrade. Suggestions?

You won't believe my good luck today. Circuit City had a screw up that listed an evga Geforce 6800 Ultra for 4.99 after $50 rebate. lol I was only able to get one, I think just before they caught the mistake. Believe me, I tried to get more.

Anyway, it's an sli version, so I'll be saying goodbye to me A7N8X, and hello to???????? I'm gonna stick with AMD, choosing a socket 939. Which one gives the best bang for the buck? I'd like to be under $200, yeah I know, limits my choices. Willing to go over, if there's a major bang in it.

I've really loved my Asus. Best board I've ever owned, and I've owned a bunch. What board would you recommend. I was kinda leaning toward the MSI Nforce4 SLI, but again, would like to save a few bucks, this one is getting close to the $200 range.

Interesting..............nobody has an opinion, who 'da thunk it? How 'bout a MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI Socket 939 paired with an Athlon 64 3200+ Winchester. Opinions? Pretty please?

first of all... you are the luckiest man alive!

2ndly, the MSI is a good board, and so is the Asus A8N SLI Deluxe. However, Asus is due out with a new board thats supposed to one up their A8N SLI.. not sure when its due out.


also be aware that you dont NEED an SLI board unless you plan to get another 6800 Ultra in the future. Any PCI-Express board will do.

I recommend either an Asus, an MSI, or if you are into tweaking and overclocking, the DFI nForce 4 SLI. match those with a 3200+ or 3500+ Winchester and you're set

 

Thanks man. Never thought I would have a tough time getting opinions. I know I don't need an SLI board, and I certainly don't have the money to get another 6800 ultra...................right now. However, down the road as prices fall, and I need another upgrade............... Might have to see when the new Asus board is out, but I can't wait long, 'cause the new graphics board will do me no good without a new mboard.
