    Anyone:
Please help me. I have two problems. My father just gave me his old computer from work. It is a Dell with 256 of memory. I use IE 6.0 and am running Windows 98SE. I really don't much about this and my husband, while claiming to know something, really doesn't know crap. I really only use the computer for a couple of things. I like to download pictures of my 10-week old Son and post them on the internet for family. I check email and sometimes buy a few things. I also write Word documents for work. So, here are my problems.

    1. We have two computers in our office. We have a Linksys router and my husband's computer prints, but mine does not. I want to be able to print, but I don't know how to get it so that both of our computers can print.

    2. My dad used Netscape 7.1. I don't like it or understand it. All of my photos have a Netscape logo next to them and they open in Netscape...which I don't get. I tried to go to ADD/REMOVE and get rid of Netscape, but it says that an "uninstall program is not available". How do I get rid of Netscape?

I'm not really sure what to do from here. If there is anyone that can explain this in lay terms, it would be a big help...I'll try to follow everything exactly as asked, but I'm frustrated...maybe with my computer and maybe with my husband (who said he thought he could fix it).
    thanks so much in advance.

ok you need to make the printer shared, if not down so already. if it's connected to a win98 then so start, settings, control panel, printers and faxes. right click the printer and then find the option to share it. sorry i don't know enough about 98 to tell you exactly where it is!!! if you were on windows xp then you could run the network setup wizard and enable printer sharing through that, but i'm not sure if it's the same for 98.

for the photos, if you right click them and go properties, you should be able to change the way they open, like what program to open with. i'm not entirely sure what you mean by "All of my photos have a Netscape logo next to them and they open in Netscape...which I don't get" You should be able to change the way they open, if that's what you mean???

Thanks for your input about the printer. I am still having trouble with opening the pictures in something other that netscape. When I right click on the pictures and go to properties, it does not give me the option to open the pictures in a different program. It automatically opens them using netscape. I still cannot uninstall netscape from the computer either. When I got to add/remove software and try to uninstall netscape a screen pops up that says it cannot find the folder to unistall it. HELP!

ok you could do a search from my computer for "netscape" and then delete everything that comes up - within limits!!!!!
and this might work, but you could open up ms paint and then open each picture and save it again, say as a bitmap and then they should open in paint, or do you want to open them in another program?

You could try re-installing Netscape 7.1, which should then give you the option to fully remove it in the Add/Remove panel.

Or, just install a good picture viewer program such as ACDSee or similar. Most of them give you the option of which picture types to associate with the program during installation, or under program options after the install. That should keep Netscape from opening the pictures.
