I need help.... lot's of it!! No audio, etc.

I think I have corrupted my Registry, or my Windows XP (SP 3) installation. I was having difficulty setting up a wireless connection.... one thing led to another... system freezes.... won't allow me to use System Restore, to any previous date, so I'm stuck. Is it possible to repair my XP installation, etc, and how should I do it? I have both System Mechanic and Error Expert programs, which identify lots of errors, but using them to 'fix' my problems have made them worse. Thanks for any help offered and yes, I do realise I have brought this on myself!-o

 

I would go with Tim's option of full format and clean install, if you own or can get a lend of a copy of your OS, as it seems that you may have serious issues with your registry (made worse by the use of the tools), something that I've learned the hard way!!! NEVER MESS WITH THE REGISTRY OF YOUR MACHINE!!! even though there are loads of programs/software available to "FIX" issues most only create more issues!!!.

Just a thought, have you tried doing a system restore in safe mode? An Everest report will not help if you have a corrupted registry.
