I Need Help Now!please!

Hi!
i really need an expert here.right now, at this moment,theres something wrong with my Windows xp.it loads up but my icons,my taskbar,my desktop is missing.i got to the internet using opera.luckily i have it.i ran it from task manager (new task).
i think i did something because i was using spybot n basically i had everything fixed.then i restarted my pc,keyed in my password and this pops. 'The procedure entry point SHRegGetValueW could not be located in the dynamic link library SHLWAPI.dll'
i have no idea about it what so ever. please help me!!

 

Try booting into Safe Mode, try a system restore.

 

ok try this. go to task manager and run a new task. type in "Explorer.exe" with no qoutes. that should fix your problem

 

See the most possible reason for this is perhaps ur file explorer.exe must have been corrupted. all u need to do it to have this file from somebodys pc running windows XP..And replace that explorer.exe in ur pc. For this follow following steps:
1. Get explorer.exe in a floopy from sombody running windows XP
2. Now start ur pc normally and wait till windows XP loads
3. Now from the task manager..run a new task .."command"
(without quotes)
4. On the command prompt giv the command
copy a:\explorer.exe c:\windows\explorer.exe
5. Take out the floopy and restart ur pc.
i cant say for sure but this probably shud help u out.

Sorry, thats wrong. Putting a vital system file on floppy is a very bad idea. If you didn't have a corrupted file before, you almost CERTAINLY will after replacing it with a copy from a floppy.

Right now I'm guessing this comes up in an error window... is that ALL the text that is in the window? If not, please tell us it all.

We can talk you through using the recovery console to replace any files should we require it. This method doesnt involve any floppies, or in fact and corruptable media, as the files are replaced from the original CD.
