Is there some way to retrieve data that has been deleted?

I deleted some data and it is NOT showing up in my Norton Protected recycle bin. I really need to get it back, but it is not there. Is there some way to do this?

    Thanks

Are there any files listed or is it just empty?

I have been using a program called "Restoration v2.5.14" and can be downloaded here: (freeware)

The program does not need to be installed. I run the program from a floppy.

Has saved my butt on a number of occasions

Thanks for all the responses. Late last night I found a program called winundelete that did the job. It cost me $49.95 more than I was hoping to spend, but it did the job.

    Again, thanks

99% of the time, there will always be a free alternative that will do just as good a job.

In future, wait for responses and try them before resorting to spending money, because you could've saved yourself $50.

Sorry, didn't realize the program was obtainable from MajorGeeks.

Still picking shrapnel out of my body from the Nam war, sometimes interferes with my thinking.

Now that you've mentioned it, I think MajorGeeks is where I did download the software from. :)

No need to apologize but it was nice of you to do so.:) If you aren't sure what category we may have something listed in and want to do a search I recommend using the google one we have rather than the vb one. The google results are IMO always much more accurate and easier to navigate through.
