My computer is not starting normally. I tried to install a program from verizon which syncs the phone and the computer and after installation i tried to sync but my internet for some reason was disabled even though it said it was still connected it did not work. So I turned off my computer and tried to turn it back on. Then the dell starting up page came up and the phoenix starting up page came up like normal. Now instead of moving on it came to a page that says: "We apologize for the incoveniece but windows did not start successfully a recent hardware or software change might have caused this." It tells you to revert to the last known good configuration giving you three options: start with safe mode, start with safe mode with networking or safe mode with command prompt. Then you are started on the option continue normally. I could fix this on my own but for some reason instead of allowing me to move up and down with the arrow keys like it says to i cant move at all. I tried to open up in safe mode by pressing F8 but it gets me there but there is still no response from the up and down keys. The keyboards Number lock light is still on so i know its still connected and I tried it with another working keyboard. Both of these keyboards are not wireless and the usb slots are working fine and I tried it in all of them just in case. Then after 30 seconds it tries to start normally and goes to the window start page but then quickly goes to a blue message page that says this:
[A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.
    UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
If this is the first time you'veseen this Stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:
Check to make sure any neww hardware or software is properly installed. If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer for any windows updates you might need.
If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then select safe mode.
    Technical information:
    *** STOP: 0x000000ED (0x86727E30, 0xc0000006, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)]
In the brackets is exactly what it says it would be easy to fix if i could get to safe mode but as i explained earlier my keyboard doesnt let me move up and down. I tried restarting the computer many times but the same message occurs and i cannot even get to my log-in screen. I hope some one knows what i can do to fix this. I am posting this from my dads laptop. If you do please reply to this post.
I thank you very much if you do, and i appreciate it greatly.

    Welcome to Major Geeks.
Don't know if it will help, but try booting up WITHOUT the connection to your phone.
May be just a configuration setting gone wrong.

The error you're getting has nothing to do with the Verizon phone program. It's just coincidence that these two things happened at about the same time. Here's how to fix your problem:

Boot to your Windows XP install disc. If you don't have one, borrow one from a friend. It doesn't necessarily need ot be the same version of Windows you're running. For example: if you have XP Pro but can only get your hands on an XP Home disc, it should be OK. Once the CD starts loading, you'll have numerous blue screens with white text and a white bar at the bottom showing you what's going on. After a bit, yiou'll be given a screen that looks like this:
    http://z.about.com/d/pcsupport/1/0/8/0/-/-/rc3.jpg
At this point press "R" for the Recovery Console. Some people have the Recovery Console installed on the hard drive. If you're one of these people, you don't need the XP disc. Anyway- so now you're in the Recovery Console. If you're prompted for the admin password, enter it. If there is no admin password, press Enter. Eventually, you'll be at what looks like an old-school DOS prompt. Now, type chkdsk c: /r and press Enter. Be sure to put a space before and after the c: or esle the command won't work. This is obviously a command to check the hard drive for file system errors, and the 'slash r' tells the system to repair and recover. Let it complete. It may take some time, and you may think it has locked up. You may see the percentage counter actually go backward. All this is normal. It has not locked up. Just let it run. I've seen chkdsk take over 8 hours on large messed up drives. DO NOT shut down or restart the PC!!! DO NOT try to cancel chkdsk!! Let it finish. When it's done, type exit and press Enter and the PC will restart. Remove the XP disc from the CD/DVD drive and Windos should load to the desktop.
    :-D
