Also, if it is still installed on the XP computer, you might get the key blacklisted because only one copy per computer according to the license.

    Hi

Various Office versions have various licence options, some 1 copy per PC, some 1 copy on Desktop and 1 on a portable PC, and some have a 3 PC licence, the 3 PC licence is generally Home/Student and Teacher versions, Enterprise is different in being multiples, depending on which version eg. HUP, AC, VL etc, OEM versions are normally 1 licence per PC.

But on installing this should not matter for now as the application is not installed, I would try and see if you can if you dont get Autorun ( posted above ) to run the CD, to open up the CD and right click and RUN as Administrator the Office Setup.exe ( make sure your logged on in the Admin account )

But unhook from internet and disable your Antivirus software as some can interfear with application installs.

On any error, do look in the Event Viewer > Software for any listing of the Office Failed install, you can also look for errors listed in the Reliability and Performance Monitor ( to get to this easy option is to click Start > and type Performance in the start search box and it will be listed ) > click Reliabilty Monitor and look for the red X in the days listing for Software (UN)Installs, and post the error message.
