7600gt in sli has a poor performance indeed , 1 or 2 fps less then a single 7600gt so iff your buying it to use 2 cards in sli its not worth the money

heard that too, have any of you heard how two 7800GT's would perform in SLI?

@Frankzro: i'd go with two 7900GT's in sli. that's the greatest combo you can get! Little costly but worth it.

When choosing to run dual video cards, bear in mind that a video card like the 7600 and up consumes well over half of the 16X PCIe bandwith already. To add another 7600 is wasteful. Save your money and install a pair of 6800 GPUs and let each card consume 8X of the bandwidth. Put the extra coin into a Viewsonic VX922 LCD display( very fast -good for gaming):)

not if you have a mobo that has dual 16x pci express slots. then both cards run at 16x.

@padams - interesting. I do have a dual 16x pci express mobo. I've noticed that when I utilize either of the cards by itself, the reported speed is 16x( eg. when running dual monitors). However, when I run them in tandem,( on one monitor) the reported speed is 8x for each. Are you suggesting that there are motherboards out there ( somewhere) that are 32x capable, so that each video card can have 16x??? I know that the PCIe standard, does support 32x, I just haven't seen any motherboards that do.:)

Everyone, The only reason I bought the MOBO that I have now is cause I could afford it.. And on top of buying it I also bought a 2 Year Warranty for it .. sooo Fawk chipsets and extras lol cause theres no point in putting my money on something that might break and then not being able to get the money back or even get another you know? Guys think about it this way.... we all will always be behind in computer Hardware.. theres something better every 6 months man... And sence i heard about those quad cores and quad SLi's oMFG... how!?!?! lol theres no way in hell any one can keep up with that lol thats like making a new comp every year... No.. Way... Im stickin wit wat i got and thats the
MSI K9N SLI Platinum Mobo... Ill upgrade later :p waaay later:eek:

Thankyou padams. I wasn't aware that the 32x SLI motherboards were available yet. And yes padams - I'm not confused as you've suggested - they accomplish full 16x on each of the slots by running at 32x SLI on the motherboard, whereas my current motherboard (ASUS A8N-SLI Premium ) only runs at 16x so when it runs in SLI mode, it splits the bandwidth to 8x for each. See? No confusion here padams.:)

I'm thinking of going with the A8N32-SLI Deluxe board from Asus. you might want to check it out. not too pricey but it does cost.
