I need to apologize to MA and others

This is going to sound like an excuse but it is truly an apology, over my wrongful attack re Ronald Reagan ending the cold war. In fact he did play a part, I know that.
I have very personal reasons to dislike the man. During his administration of Gov of California is when he first started shutting down homes for people who could not manage on their own. My children were small at the time and it got to where I was uncomfortable letting them outside to play with these people roaming the streets. Now I realize they were lost, suddenly homeless.

Moving ahead during his presidency he finished the job and closed all full time care. Now these sick people became criminals. Trespassers.

My oldest child, my son who worked hard, raised a family, was not a drug addict became ill, excuse me became a criminal in the late 90's. He lost his family, his home, cars, himself.

He turns 50 years old this Dec, I'll be 65 this month. I have not seen my son in 10 years, no one has. I have no idea if he is well, warm, eating. He was proud and never took anything he did not earn.

All this and I've been sick for going on two weeks may have led to my insanity and I truly apologize.

 

My Dear, you had every right to vent your anger and I know no one here will fault you for that. Personally, it was a gracious thing you did by appologizing, but under the circumstances and the Hell you are going through not knowing about your son, again, no one can fault you for that. Besides, we're all friends here and and if you can't vent to your friends....well then they aren't very good friends. You're a great person Darlene, and please don't let this get you down. We love ya Kid, and don't forget that!

 

Darlene, Stubby is right, don't let it bother you.. You are, after all, entitled to your opinion

I never heard of the 'perfect family' yet, as they all have their flaws, one way or another... Everybody has skeletons in the closet. Not everybody opens that door and reveals them..


I hope you feel better. Plus, that is what friends are for

Spent the week end in the hospital also so that'll take the spunk right out of ya.
Dan and I both had the flu, not the big one. Needed help getting through mine due to my lungs, a work in progress here, hope everyone else is well, missed you all.:wave

I can relate, darlene, to spending time in hospital . . . not for my own health, but for one that I love. I wish you and yours the best, and I will include you in my prayers.

You have been sharp in your posts in the hot topics thread - but I don't see any of them being an attack per se. Like Voltaire said (or may not have said . . . some say this was a summation by Evelyn Beatrice Hall of what his general attitude was) "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

I would not want to live in a United States of America where all the darlenes and all the Spads could not speak their minds honestly and without fear of reprisal.

 

Darlene you have no need for apologies.
You have a sharp mind and a big heart which has been evident to me over the years we have been here.
I know about your problems just as you know mine so we have consoled each other at times.
I really hope you are on the mend by now as with your lung problem flu can lead to other problems.

Oh, Darlene, I hope you are feeling better soon.. That flu is awful from what I heard... Just hoping we can stay away from it, as hubby has a hard enough time as it is, and yes, I do know how hard it is for both you and him.. So much more susceptible than those without lung problems...

Thanks all so much, I have never felt closer to people I have never even met, your quite a special group I feel privileged.
I get a bit crazy at times, been shut in the house all summer cuz of the heat, Dan and I pass in the hall and grunt occasionally.
Then getting sick.

Plus each year that passes takes me farther away from ever seeing my son. I simply wish him to be healthy and happy I pray, I pray for all my children, wouldn't take a chance on wasting it on myself.
