You sure you want to do that yourself sibeer?:eek You could get seriously stung there man! I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole, get a pro if it's still an active nest, those suckers are mean.

Time to get the wasp spray that shoots 20 feet. Then once it's done it's job, spray it with charcoal lighter fluid and tip it over and light it up!!! :-D

I'm thinking those are hornets and it would probably be money well spent to pay to get them taken care of. They are extremely aggressive.

You need 'Billy The Exterminator'! I would not mess with those things, very aggressive. If you do try to do it yourself, do it at night, and position a flashlight at the nest 90 degrees away from where you are. That way the suckers should go to the flashlight before they go to 'the light'. :-D

I had a wasp's nest a few years back and my friend said "I can take care of that", he got one of those RAID streaming cans of bug poison. So before he got going I shut all the windows, stayed inside as I can't run and armed myself with a fly swatter.

Two seconds after he started shooting they flew out, yes many died on the spot but the rest came after him! You should have seen him first get a shocked look on his face, then drops the can and hightails it into the lake fully clothed!roflmao He submerged himself a few times and they finally flew back.

He comes back soaking wet and smiling says 'That went well'.:-D Too bad I don't have any pics and if it wasn't for the lake I think he could have been seriously bit, lake's only 50 feet away. As it was he still got stung some 10 times. Fun, fun, fun.;)

They're called bald-faced hornets and are very aggressive. I had a similar nest under the eaves near my patio a couple of years ago. They were never a problem to us because they're not interested in human food so I left them there. I think because they were there we had no other wasps in the yard. That nest was high up. This new one is eye level, but not a public access area of my yard. I have to work over there because of the pool heater so I've been run into a few times. They don't stop to sting me. I've never been stung in my life, even when I've had to remove yellow jacket wasp nests.
I have no plans to remove this one.
Oh, the nest is made from my fence. you can see streaks of the old stain colour.

I ran over a yellow jackets nest with the tractor one day. The damn little farts chased me!! (I'm allergic to the stings). I almost drove the tractor into the pond!! :-D:-D

I always enjoyed doing the spraying. Mostly its my family all slower then me and my sister allergic to the stings.. So basically me doing the jobs. But that looks like an amazing nest(pretty cool to look at) but most def want to get rid of it:-D

For sure. The only ones I've removed I've done at night with a plastic bag. Slip it over and tie it off. The underground ones, spray and a Hail Mary.:-D

you can get great torque out of a 10-12 foot ladder. step on the far (non-hive) end of it, pull up slowly for 5-6 feet, then YANK it up sharply the rest of the way. with a good arm, you'll launch that sucker 40-50 feet!

decide which of your neighbours you like least.

We get an underground nest usually every year somewhere in the yard. I've learned to sneak the garden hose as near as I can get it, then turn it on and go in the house for a few hours. Works like a charm! The wasps are gone, part of the yard is really well watered, no chemicals, and I never get stung! :-D
