For some reason I am not able to get on the internet at all. When clicking the ie icon nothing happens. After re-clicking, the computer just logs up on me. I was able to get an error message :

    Error signature:

    szAppName: iexlorer.exe

    szAppVer: 6.0.2900.2180

    szModname: hungapp

    szModver: 0.0.0.0.

    offset: 00000000

I already tried to get to the ie from all different locations on the computer but nothing happened. Same with FireFox.

    Any idea what’s going on?

I'm assuming you are using Win XP, download and run this tool:

    WinSock XP Fix

If that doesn't fix the problem then:

First follow the instructions in this thread:

READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Second any unresolved issues in the
    Spyware Specific Forum

    Read the following thread:

NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

If you are still having problems after doing all the above please post back in this thread.

Try this, run each of the following from Start > Run:

    regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll
    regsvr32 Shell32.dll
    regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
    regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
    regsvr32 Mshtml.dll
    regsvr32 Urlmon.dll

You may have to restart then try your IE.

    Download Hoster 1.7.2

Unzip and run the file if you have anything other than this line 127.0.0.1 localhost, click-on Restore Original Hosts. This will restore the hosts file to the original Microsoft hosts file.

You may have to reboot your computer.

I tried all that , but still no I-net. It seems like I am missing some files, but have no idea which files.
Right now I am on another computer which is on the same network and evenything seems to be working on this one. Any other ideas on what could be done?

Something is blocking the other computer from accessing the internet. What are you using for a firewall and anti-virus? You could have something in the form of a virus that is blocking the computer from accessing the net. Try this:

Download the following two files, copy them to a CD, then create a folder on your desktop, and call it TSC. Save these 2 files there!

    Sysclean Package

    Pattern.zip

Unzip Pattern.zip, then delete the zip file.

Once you have these downloaded into the folder you just created, REBOOT INTO SAFE MODE!

Once in Safe Mode, double click the file sysclean.com; when system cleaner loads, click SCAN to start the scanner.

I turned the firewall off and ran every anti-virus mentioned on the page from adaware, to cwshredder, search& destroy etc. ...

let me see if your other suggestion will work. I will be back with an update.

    and thanks, btw

You have SP2 on the system? If so, uninstall it then reinstall SP2.

Is iexlorer.exe a misstype? It should be iexplore.exe

We are talking about XP sp2? Correct? If so, there may be another solution.

woohoo... it worked... i took xp sp2 off and I am back online, but it seems to me it's slowing the system down a lot. Could that be? And what else should I do now (if there is any) ?

Thank you, thank you, thank you ... BTW

Well, I am afraid I am going to lose the i-net again...
So I guess I can give it another try, right?! Do I really need SP2?

Wirhout SP2 install your system is at serious risk of being exploited. Update your hardware drivers before installing SP2. When you install SP2, make sure your computer is not phyicaly connected to the internet, exit all unnecessary running processes, including your firewal and antivirus programs. DO NOT just dsable them EXIT your firewall and Antivirus program.

If you don't have the SP2 CD, the SP2 Offline Install can be located HERE.
