I wish it was as easy as Snoopy said...

I paid good money to have mine done by a pro. My refund is more than his fee! :D I like my tax dude.

Our system here is very like the US we do yearly returns the only difference is that if you have a good reputation with your bank I.E. always in credit then they have officers that will help you for FREE YES FREE to get your return done.

great huh one of the only things here that is free, all others pay

The IRS (Internal Revenue Service) will help you with your federal tax return for free here too. I would imagine it would lean in their favor though.

I think in the US if you make under $50,000 a year (not 100% on the amount) you can file for free and use free online services. That's how I did mine. Took about an hour, but I"m just a student with a part time job so it was pretty straightforward. It sure beats the $300 fee the tax guy my dad goes to wanted for my taxes..:hammer

Thats probably with no credits or deductions. A knowledgeable tax accountant can save you money you had not known of, what with laws changing practically each year. The one I used to use charged by the number forms.
When you own property real or personal it pays to have a professional I believe. Make a mistake and your looking at an audit. That takes way longer then an hour. :D

Aye, it was pretty simplified, and for me it worked out great. I'm getting $88 back and didn't have to pay 10% of my gross income to get my taxes figured out (I made just over 3k). Of course once I own property and get established in a career a professional is the way to go. I wouldn't do it any other way.
