OK, this is absolutely hysterical IMO...

I was on the way home today on the bus (had to get the big German some more doggy food) and was just sitting there minding my own business on a full bus and this woman across the aisle from me was chatting up her friend on her new cell phone. I was not eavesdropping or anything, but she was speaking rather loudly (why? most phones have great mic's on them *shrug*) and I couldn't help but hear most of her conversation. At one point, she is telling the other person.. "This is my new cell phone and I don't want ANYONE else to have this number" At this point, I am thinking, OK, that's normal, you don't want everyone and their brother and sister calling you. Well, right after that, she proceeds to give the person at the other end of the line her number, just as loud as she had been speaking.

I was sitting there thinking, you don't want anyone to have your number, but you just gave it out to the entire bus.... hrmm... Cell phones.. IQ not required.

lol.. it's funny how cell phones instantly change the way some behave in public. She must have been well aware that others could hear her..but chose to ignore that fact under the assumption that her call was intrinsically deemed private and that we, the other people, should respect that... erm.. and "tuner her out"? ...lol. I don't get that at all..

So, I wonder how many people called her new cell phone that she didn't know :D

Let's call her! When my Dan talks on the phone (any phone) you would think he's using 2 cans and a string.

I've also ran into people who think yelling into a mobile phone when the line is breaking up will help the other person hear you. I think it does quite the opposite.

Ahh... sounds like my hubby! When the line starts breaking up his arm(the one holding the phone) changes to every position conceivable; he stands up, sits down, stands up..., runs out the front door, if that doesn't work... down the steps to the footpath. Looking for a better signal, while his voice gets louder and louder.roflmao

That goes right along with the whole idea that you have to take the phone away from your ear, place it in front of your mouth and yell as loudly as you can into it, then put it back to your ear to hear the other party....

A good friend of mine works for Cricket here in the Cuse, and i get all sorts of storys about phones coming back with the mic's blow in them from abuse like that, or from people who have so spray their words....you know what I mean I hope..LOL

Talking about phones... My 15 year old daughter's friend(16) had just got a brand new hot pink slim line Motorola flip phone and she was desperate for everyone to see without actually announcing to everyone she had a new phone. So every chance she got she'd pull it out and pretend she was talking to someone. My daughter decided to ring her while she had the phone to her ear "talking" to her imaginary friend! Well as you can imagine, all the people around burst out laughing. My daughter then told her if she wants to do that she should at least ring 555 (Optus balance service) so her phone is engaged if anyone tries to call her during her fake phone calls. And she does!;)

I've seen people on a train paying their bills by credit card - and quite clearly saying all of their credit card details that are required to make a payment - out to the whole train.

    CLEVER.

I once again say that an ELE would do the planet some good, return everything to the roaches :)

Cell phones seem to suck intelligence right out of people.

My pet peeve and constant source of annoyance and laughter is Bluetooth headsets. They have become the new fashion victim accessory to have. I've seen idiots with them, with no phone, trying to fool every one into thinking that they are actually talking into one. I really laugh when it it is obvious that the things aren't even one in the first place.

My favorite would be -the person who is engaged in a conversation with you receives a call -then says " ohh-hold on " and takes the call while leaving me standing there twiddiling my thumbs--rude rude rude...Now i just walk away and make them come find me later.:D

That was my former doctor. He either had a cell phone in his hand or a nurse was handing him a cordless through a crack in the door.

Yep. Pretty rude. Afraid there are many people who just haven't learned "cell phone etiquette".....people pick up technology quickly enough, just can't understand why manners can't keep pace.rolleyes

I could care less about the legality. Might have to build one.

that and I want to open a pub or restaurant and have the place built like a giant Faraday cage. No Cell signals ever. :D
