Ok, I didn't know where to put this so mods, feel free to move it. Here's the deal:

I use gmail and it gets a few spam emails a day but this morning when I got into work I had 70 spam emails waiting for me all from the same "person" - the same email address. The problem is that it's emailing spam every 30 seconds. You can only imagine how annoying this is. How do I stop it? Is there a way to block it?? It's driving me INSANE!

    Me too Newgroove

    Options are

Gmail, well not really a spam blocker but if you keep making them as spam the Gmail filter should block them and pop them in the spam folder or report it as abuse to Gmail http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=6602&query=spam&topic=0&type=f ( need to be logged into Gmail to view ) and you could also setup a Filter to weed out this mail http://mail.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=8151&query=filter+spam&topic=0&type=f

Outlook Express and others for your Home PC
have a read of this http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=27387 and some other options for spam blockers are here http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloads10.html ( Mailwasher free is good if you only have 1 email account to check )

I tried setting up a filter but it doesn't recognize the emails I'm getting. I would like to either block it completely or set it up to go directly to the trash (which a filter SHOULD do) but I can't really get either to work.

I'm never on the same computer so I'm not running outlook or thunderbird or anything.

As far as reporting abuse goes, I was looking at gmail's site and I'm not sure I can report abuse if it's not coming from a gmail account. The email address I'm receiving them from is "madelo@bpd.treas.gov".

I am seriously ready to kill someone.

Ok, they've stopped...for now. I forwarded one of the emails to the FTC (spam@uce.gov) and they stopped. So now I'll just keep my fingers crossed!
