Ok guys, I am using a 3com firewall and I keep getting these Firewall Alert messages that just about all the computers in my network have ad.doubleclick.net, ar.atwola.com, and servedby.advertising.com on them - and are trying to hit the internet (outside the LAN)- but the firewall won't let them. My firewall has also been locking up every-week. I have scannedd all of the computers for spyware, and am running Webroot as an active spy/adware defense. Are the above listed spy/adware? What the heck are they - and what do I do to make these alerts stop?? Oh man my head hurts....

They are considered spyware tracking cookies. Why don't you just install SpywareBlaster and set it up to block all this stuff from getting on your PC to begin with.

    Get it here: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

But I'm surprised that the block feature in SpySweeper does not block them. You did mean SpySweeper when you said Webroot didn't you? You did not disable them from being blocked did you. Did anyone put them in your Trusted Zones in internet explorer or in your firewall?

    > Well the problem is they are all over the place on an Active-Directory Integrated network (about 17 workstations). Webroot Spysweeper, Ad-Adaware, and Spybot don't even have these updates. I really dont even know what they are- popups possibly? Whatever they are, I have to get rid of 'em...

    > The block feature will only block the definitions they have- I cannot manually insert anything. No one put them in the trusted zones (if they did, I wouldn't be getting the firewall alerts- im guessing)- and I am not sure about internet explorer ( the users probably couldn't figure out how to do that)

I know for sure the SpySweeper detects atwola cookies. It appears right in their list.

What do you mean by: Webroot Spysweeper, Ad-Adaware, and Spybot don't even have these updates.

What updates are you talking about?
What versions are you using for those three programs and what referenece file number or date do you have?

And again I repeat SpywareBlaster blocks all of those cookies.

If you run Ccleaner on all PC, all of these cookies will probably be cleaned up.

I mean that in the console where it shoes what they block- ad.doubleclick.net and servedby.advertising.com aren't on the blocked spyware list. I am running Webroot SpySweeper Enterprise by the way. We just purchased the software and it is up-to-date on all definitions. What is Ccleaner?

CCleaner is a great drive cleaner. See this: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4191.html

You did not mention what version of Ad-aware and SpyBot you are running.
Are you running Ad-aware SE, what version number? What Reference List number? Free version or purchased?
What version of SpyBot? 1.3 Final? What detections date?

And a third time I repeat, SpywareBlaster blocks all of those cookies and it is free. I think you can even add to the list of things to block yourself.
