I really need help

    Sorry if this is in the wrong place.I keep getting dll errors.Shell 32 dll error,I cannot open my computer,I cannot search for files folder,I get the dll error and explorer has caused a problem in<unknown>,Some one please,help,Im at my wits end!Thanks

    Can you give us some background info like what windows version your using.... when did this start happening, what were you doing around the time of the errors?

    and if you can give us a better description of what the error message said then that will help narrow it down.

    Hi,I have windows me,I wasnt really doing anything at the time,its like it came out of no where,I can acess the internet(so far) but when I go to click on certain icons like my computer ans searc,I get the dll error

    ok I get 2 errors

    Explorer has caused an error in>unknown>
    And then I have to close it

    The other just says Explorer has caused and error in shell.32,if you keep expirencing problems try restarting

    I did some research and here is what I have. Before doing this, a scan with Spybot or Ad-Aware is a good idea as well as cleaning temporary files, including the index.dat (need to reboot to delete it afterwards) which I would do with CCleaner in our Drive Cleaner section:

    Now the harder part, you need to replace Shell32.dll. This is probably the easiest way for someone not very experienced:



    Boot using your boot disk and CDROM support (create one if needed) to get to an A: prompt and type:

    A:\extract c:\windows\options\cabs\win_14.cab shell32.dll /L c:\windows\system

    And answer yes to replacing/overwriting the file.

    I think you did good on your own MA.... Halo's having Network issues and just on last bit of tracing the cause.....

    okay,ran the cc,and I already ran adaware and spybot,So I have to wait till I can go get a disk,I dont have one,and none to create one,but when I do,How do I create one?Thanks for all your help! ;)
