I think I have a codec problem - help!!

Hi everyone!

From what I gather, I think something's wrong with my codecs. I can play audio CDs without any problems but DVDs have visuals, but no sound. This is happening in all the media players installed on my computer. These are are DVDs that I have previously played in my computer (Windows XP SP2) and everything has worked as it should.

I don't have any experience with these codecs, so I'm wondering if someone could talk me through sorting them out as I don't want to mess things up any further!
