i think i have a virus!

hey all

i got a email that said attached file:britany
and stupidly i opened it
but it said that mcafee scans all attachments so i click on the attachment and it said no virus found so i clicked: download file and then norton said virus found could not be repaired mit said this twice

i went to my norton and it didn't say anything about the virus's so i did a virus scan and it still said no virus's

i went to my activity log and it says that i have recieved to virus's and one say's could not be fixed and the other say's access denied

what do i do

it gives me a directory to where the virus's are but the folder isn't there

the virus is W32.Mota.B@MM

it says that both of the virus's are the same

if anyone could help that would be greatly apreciated

If Norton did a "quarantine" but could not delete the file, that is still OK.

If Norton could not do anything, update your definitions and try again.

If you have Norton installed, why is McAfee scanning your emails?

Are you sure McAfee is still functional and updated? I know many pre-built PC's come with McAfee preinstalled, but its normally just a 90-day trial.

 

i think that msn uses mcafee to scan emails i don't think that's changable
it just said at the bottem of my email mcafee scans all email attachments

but i will try to update my norton and try again
