I think my computer needs a day at the spa......

Unfortunately, my desktop (Windows 2000) has become infected with ???? The symptoms include having misdirected to websites, and unable to access some web sites.

At the suggestion of someone that I believe is knowledgable, I downloaded Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware. Unfotunately, when I attempted to run the setup I received an error in the middle of the set up. The error code is: 718(-2146893799,0). I suspect that quite possibly the virus in my computer is preventing the set up from functioning properly.

Any assistance you might be able to provide will be greatly appreciated.

 

Then try SAS first. And then Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware afterwards. Remember to update it after download - full scan:
