    I have 2 physical hard drives C & D and E& F. C& D are fine. There is
little to nothing on F as I reformatted it about 6 months ago. I have
been in the process of putting all my music on E. This includes all my
CDs and what I've downloaded on line. The only thing on E is my music. I
was renaming & organizing files as recent as last night. I checked the
defrag window and noticed that E was approx. 51% free space. I almost
ran defrag before going to bed but forgot.

This morning things were hanging up (the computer in general) so I
re-booted and opened defrag. The E drive could not be found. When I open
Explorer, it shows E:\ but when you click on it, it says. "E:\ is not
formatted. Do you want to format this drive?" Of course, I said no.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot or recover the data short of
reformatting and loading up my music again. If it were a matter just my
CD's I would just reload them but there's a lot of songs I've gotten off
    the net (file share software).

    Any suggestions?
