I Thought My Xp Drive Was Failing

i got 4 desktop towers -all xp--i boot up and try to type in password ,and box wont appear--other times i get loaded and stuff stops

so i hook up second tower -same thing

i use 3rd one but use another mouse and keyboard -everything seems ok now

ever heard of such a thing? i think its the mouse

later ill try the first one with good mouse/keyboard

 

Mice and/or keyboards will fail. Is the keyboard/mouse combination USB or PS2? Plugging the USB keyboard (if it's that) into another USB port on the computer may also help.

 

old one is ps2 and new one is usb mouse and so far computer works ok-i guess i never had to format

i never heard of this problem--or mouse was wound around other cords
