All that needs to be does is a shared internet, printer, and access to an external drive that i have on my computer. Can this be done? if so what do i need to do this.

You will need a Router, and cables. Depending on how much you are willing to cost, will decide what brand and what model of router.

And yes networking can be done. Networking computers have been done since the 60's, but has become more commonplace in the household in the past 5 years.

What type of Internet would you like to share?
