I was a hero now a zero

I was proud of myself last week after almost completely stripping down my acer aspire 6530 and cleaning all the dust out and applying artic silver due to overheating problems which had been going on for 2 years. Laptop now seems cool after all day usage whereas before it would last about 10mins and burn my legs off.
Anyway i hve a hard drive that is full and i have a 1tb external hard drive which has not worked since i upgraded from Vista to 7 when it came out. Therefore i found instructions how to revert back to vista and started to follow the them (althougth stupidly i did not read the last bit about needing a Vista boot disc which i do not have).
I went into command prompt as instructed and basically moved things around then messed up as my windows.old was called windows.old.000 and i thought it was .001.
So i turned my computer back on to try again but my profile is now blocked I have installed a new windows 7 along with the original one which i dont know where i have moved it to.
I wanted to know if i can reverse all that i have done and go back to my original windows 7 profile.

Sounds like your in a big pickle there i would go into safe mode and try to save what you can and completely reformat the hard drive so that the drive would have a fresh start.But that is my opinion.Some body else might give you better options.
