I was also banned for no reason

I was playing on Friday the 11th around 4 and i too also got banned for no reason. I dont do a whole lot of capping, just midfiield. I recieved a message saying that my connection had been lost and i recieved the same "You have been PERMANENTLY banned...." message that others have been recieving. Without naming any names, I have seen more than 1 person score over 100 because of their "Heavy Base Raping" tactics. Those of you who play in MajorGeeks on a daily basis like me probably know who im talking about. You say that this is not allowed, but yet none of those guys get kicked. I hope that i can be removed from the banned list because i have done absolutely nothing wrong. Dont let the best Tribes server left get a bad rep because of a few big headed admins.

 

Amen White, Amen. White and I are in the same boat (I go by Enforcer in game) Were both good duelers in light, and both are not the types to spam gernades and mortors and mines into spawn places. I too got banned that day for nothing (as if said in about 3 other posts) if something could be done about this please do.

No, something is obviousley wrong here. I was banned the same as you guys and I AM an admin on the Major Geeks Server. Im not totally sure what happened but I hope Tim can shed some light on whats going on.

Hopefully this issue can be resolved because this is the only server left worth playing. I hope that Me, Enforcer, and all the other players that have been unjustly banned can be restored so we can keep the MajorGeeks known as the best Tribes server around. Tribes just isnt Tribes unless it is good old BASE. And MG is the last good base server left. If i cant play base, then i dont see any point on playing at all.

 

I have been banned more then once for chassing down a certain player everytime he grabbed the flag. There are some admins in that server that need to get some skill instead of crying and kicking people. I know right now that this is the only good base server but never fear Tribes fans. I will be bringing up a new server in the next few months and I give you my word that this kind of crap will not happen.

 

All guest admins have been removed. There are now 3 admins that I know of including myself. I have not banned anyone since august.
Things I do not tolerate and my 3 simple rules:
1. No Attacking / Sniping while off the map.
2. No Base rap-ing and then camping the spawn. Get in .. do your damage and get out.
3. No Base rap-ing and then mortar spamming so the team can't get into the base *cough raindance*, *cough stonehenge*.

That's it...3 simple rules
O-Sniping is ACCEPTABLE.. if they don't break rule #1. If you can't find them, that's just too damn bad. Go whine to mommy.

Like I've said numerous times.. go in.. wreck the base.. have a good time. But don't camp it.
#3 is a bannable offense. It's bullshit and I will not tolerate it one bit. You will be warned, then kicked.. it if happens again you WILL be banned and I won't think twice about it. Don't like it? find another server.

3 simple rules people and it makes the game so much more fun. This game is not and never has been about kill count.. if you want that, then go play UT or Quake3 or some other minimally skilled, shoot anything that moves game. This is a team game. I rarely score more than 10 points because I'm setting up D or repairing stuff or playing defense.

Additionally, I don't have ESP.. I can't see what everyone is doing on the server. If I SEE a rule being broken then and only then will I take action. If there are continuous complaints about a person blowing up deployables then I will check it out in observer mode (if I feel like it, because I like to play too) or switch to that team and observe first hand.

I don't like to ban people. I prefer to kick in hopes that most will get the picture and play by the rules.

Uknow Kodo..ur right...i dont see the prob with ppl learning to obey by those rules u just explained. Its not any fun when u get killed..SPAWN...get killed...SPAWN....get killed....(SPAMBLIND>>TOWER). But what u gonna do....no one listens. I use to think it was easy to kill spawners but I HAVE SEEN THE LIGHT...cause it just doesnt make any thing fun when u cant play. I want to thank u for clearing up these banning issues....I myself wasnt banned..just getting kicked all the time for no reason...but im glad to see someone stepped in and hopefully resolved this issue.

I should also append TK to the bannable offense list. I saw some idiot with -42 the other day and he was immediately banned.

Kodo, you reckon you could give me a hand here?

Installed etc, that patch didn't appear to be doing anything, ran the update so it's updated to version 1.9.
Now when I run it, it opens and about 2 seconds later it minimizes back to my desktop. So I click the window on my taskbar again and it minimizes 2 seconds later - keeps happening! Any ideas?

 

Well Kodo...this crap has been going on forever and now there is another one banning ppl. I think there nick was "Supernova"..as described in another post. Its nice to be able to get on server and not get kicked...hell I was just to the point of uninstalling T1..MG is the only good base server there is. But then i thought of T:V..then i realized i wud be making a mistake. T:V is too clumbsy and choppy for me. My pings are so much higher on any T:V server. Just makes the game less exciting.

 

One other thing....WTH do i get this Private-E2 of my name?....LOL
