I will play format c: !!!

I will reinstall win 98SE in a few days the last time was 2 years...
With two upgrade in each years...

Here i think is the better order to install all the stuff.

Insert boot disk format C:

install Win 98SE.
install intel .inf (intel chipset 850E MOBO).
install AGP Drivers forceware latest drivers.
install sound blaster drivers.
install modem drivers.
install usb 1.1 drivers and 2.0

is this the better order to do this if not please tell me the right order

You'll want to install graphics somewhere too, unless youve got onboard..

oops....
silly me, i keep forgetting forceware is the graphics drivers these days not the chipset drivers. Why they have to keep changin the bloody names? eh?

yeah ...ya should find that a format and reinstall makes a BIG diff. ......

 

Windows, windows service packs (none for 98se, though, IIRC), motherboard drivers (chipset), directx, video card, then, all other drivers, then, update windows, and your good to go.
I also defrag a few times in there to make sure the system stays smooth.
