Ok, so I opened it. It came from a UK government address that I trusted. AVG detected it, and deleted it when I ran the program. Does anyone have any further info on this virus. I googled it, and got a lot of information on the format, but I couldn't find anything about how destructive it might be. AVG says it cleaned it, but could it have done something in the meantime?

    Thanks

Different anti-virus companies name them somewhat differently, but this should be it, from Symantec's files:

Symantec is usually pretty good at detailing what they do and what they screw up.

If your AV program caught it live as it was trying to load, you're not likely to have taken any damage, as your software monitors everything that tries to run, and stops it before it does, if it recognizes it as a virus.

Thanks G.T. It looks like AVG took care of it. Hey, I'm no longer a virus virgin!
