Hi-my hard disk died and I'm installing new one. I have an xp pro disk (slipstreamed) that I got with my computer on ebay. I have the key. Will there be any problem in just booting from the windows cd when I put in my new drive? In other words, do you forsee any problems because it is not an "official" xp disc? It has been validated when doing automatic updates, so I think it might work. Thanks.

    Hi

Should help you with a graphical guide to how the install goes, just in your BIOS set the first boot device to Boot from CDROM and then save and exit and boot to the CD, hopefully its a bootable version (no matter if its legit or not if you have legit key it should work ok, if bypassing activation with non-legit key then may work may not chance you take, personally alwasy use legit key and disk)
