IBM Lenovo T40 Thinkpad (all drivers) will not install

I have had this issue where a lenovo IBM Thinkpad T40 does not install the drivers I received from the IBM website.

They simply will not work, i've tried upgrading the chipset, and it still would not work. :confused windows xp pro clean install, can't think of anything else! Please, help!

Now, what exactly do you mean by "they won't install"? What happens? Does the PC crash? Are there error messages? Do they simply do nothing when you run the setup.exe files?
And what steps have you taken so far to resolve this? Have you tried other methods of driver installation (like using the Hardware Wizard/Have Disk method, or use the "Search this location for a better driver" method)?

 

I have tried the support drivers directly form the IBM website, running the executables and installing the driver that way.

Simply does nothing.

Searching the disc location would accomplish nothing due to the fact that the drivers are stored in the executables and are automatically extracted through them, is there another method around this??

I don't see how they would work that way either, though?

But, open for any suggestions. I obviously don't know enough to make an accurate judgement!
