it appears that this thing is hack proof The Supervisor password for the T22 IBM Thinkpad's you need some special tools and soft ware that i don't have or want or need.
I cant even get to the Start Boot log in the BIOS.i would have to spend a month craking this password the friend got this laptop out of the Pittsburgh Expo i think they got screwed out of a 100$ i would never ever bye a lap top or computer out of a Expo or some place like that you never know what your going to get or find on it or about it.

And like i said i spent over 5 hours trying to look for Backdoor passwords and every thing. It seems the only way to crack the supervisor password is to mod the motherboard.in a away that i would not even try to do.

And this is another reason way i freaking hate IBM.

Cant even use them i cant even get the CD Rom to work as first boot device be cause of this supervisor password that is on the Bios.I cant do any thing with out a Supervisor password and i don't know it and neither does the person.

    That's not good.

With IBM, it's a major issue. They did everything they could to make sure a BIOS pasword could not be tampered with.

Can you boot it to Windows? There is a flash utility you can run from inside a Windows environment.

The only problem is that if the password is stored on a separate EEPROM flashing the BIOS could be just for decoration.

You can also try installing W8 from inside the XP environment, i.e. upgrade it, or even run an XP disc from inside the XP environment. Technically called an "Upgrade". It could get the ball rolling, and you could clone the drive if it's worth no more than a glorified record player...

lol my ultimate boot cd did not even boot up.I think this laptop is worth less any way it only has a 20gig HD and 512mb of ram and a cpu of 1ghz lol.

IBM is annoying with there Hack Proof Bios supervisor password.I searched over 1,000 sites on this subject and i would say they did pretty good job at it and even they probably could not hack there own password.

    So, you can't boot Windows?

I've put W8 on laptops similar to this (upgraded from inside Windows), and it runs fine. Last one was a Dell C800. P4 1.2GHz, and 768 MB RAM. The hilarious part, in a way, was the WEI graphics hardware score. 2.3!!

I made some Progress last night.

I am able to load the system with out the HD being pluged in i have my ultimate boot cd able to load after i have taken out the HD be cause the HD is the first boot and CD rom is second and any way when my ultimate boot cd starts the process of loading when the windows loading logo pops up. I am getting a error.

0x68 i think am i am not sure what it is.Yet Looking now.

What i am trying to get at is the COMS Password And my ultimate boot cd will tell me what the COM's password is.

But i keep running into that BSOD

Each time ultimate boot cd loads.

can you use a drivewire tool hook up the hdd via usb and make it the secondary boot device?

    Other thing:

If the UBCD could ferret the BIOS password, we'd have been using it for years. If it can, please let me know, otherwise you may need another PC, a serial port, soldering iron, and some hardware from Radio Shack...
