    Has anyone else noted the furor over ceding oversight of ICANN recently?

    It's like every "chicken little" who has no idea what ICANN really does seems to think that soon Russia and China will be able to censor the internet in the United States.

    I guess you just can't fix stupid...

    Yeah seems to be some predicting doom and gloom on the internet, but IANA will still not be different in ICANN guise, as they will still do the same job, if Russia or China wanted to censor internet pages they have done so already or could anyway. The "internet" is a wild beast that will do what it wants and what a country wants, take North Korea for instance, try and view their websites. I think the issue with some US senators is control issues, you cannot control the beast!
