    Hi

Hope I've posted this in the right forum, apologies if I haven't.

iClone 3 is the latest version of animation software from Reallusion, I've just started to become interested in this type of software and was wondering firstly, what sort of system I would need to run it, and if there are other software programs of this type on the market, that are even better or more professional, your views would be appreciated.

    Hi Pozzy

TBH a fairly powerful system would be best with industry grade graphics card as in the Quadro FX range, but if just amature dabbling then try out Blender which is free and see if this app runs on your PC ok, would imagine that for home use that a GF8800 or ATi HD 2400 or above would be the benchmark spec to aim for.

BTW what are your PC specs?

Thank you for your help and advise, yes I've become interested in this particular subject with a view, in future to running a business, so I think I will try out the amateur program first to see how I get on, then hopefully move on to the more professional program at a later date.

As for my own PC specs, my current PC is old, I'm actually thinking of building a new one specifically for this project, so I am open to suggestions as to what parts I actually need for running programs of this nature.

    Best Regards

    Hi Just Playing

Thanks for that, is that the minimum spec you would recommend, if I was to say buy top spec equipment to build my PC would it matter to running these programs, e.g i7 processor or say something you would have for a high end gaming machine, or is that not really necessary.

    Regards

    That's the minimum they recommend.
A high end system will perform better than one with the minimum specs. I would suggest at least 2 GB RAM but not more than 3 GB unless you run a 64 bit OS.

    Hi Halo

This TBH you mentioned, could you point me in the right direction for their website so that I can read about their software, I seem to keep getting numerous hits on TBH in google, however not sure if the one I found which produces flash animation, is the right one, as they are talking about flash animation for websites, thats not what I want it for.

I'm not Halo, but he gave you the link right in this post. Just click on Blender mentioned above within the quote. :)

    PS: TBH= To Be Honest

    Hi

Will try out Blender first as advised, however I will have to wait until I get home as I work overseas and will not be back for another three weeks, as for PC spec, not sure as I had someone build it for me about 5 years ago, I think its got a 1.5 Ghz Athlon processor, not sure about the rest, as for TBH I might need it if I'm to have professional style cartoon images, I cannot really go into the why's just now as I'm looking to start a business using these cartoon characters, anyhow thanks for your help.

    Best Regards

    Pozzy
