ico files safe?

    i downloaded a few sets of icons to change my desktop Icons, im curious can ico files be unsafe to carry malware? (i don't own a virus scanner to make sure)

    Hi

    Any file or sets that you download, when uncompressed could have malware in them, it really is not wise to not run a PC without Antivirus software, especially as there are some very good free ones available.

    Or could scan the downloaded file here http://virusscan.jotti.org/ it is very busy so you may have to wait a while, which is why having instaled AntiVirus is a better option.
