I live in an area where dial up is the only internet available, therefore, I use ICS for my home network, which currently consists of 7 computers. 2 of them are running Ubuntu, 3 have Win 7 Ult 64 bit, one has Win 7 Pro 64 bit. The computer that dials up to the internet is running XP Pro 32 bit. I decided to update it to Win 7 Ult 32 bit. I installed another 1TB HDD and installed Win 7, all the drivers and so on. Got it connected to the internet and to my lan. The computer that I mainly use is one with Ult. 64 bit with the latest version of Firefox. Some webpages have been not loading correctly. They start to load then suddenly say that there is a content coding error and to contact the owner of the site. Some websites will load with distorted images. Also, some images in my email will be distorted. I can boot back into the XP drive, connect to the internet and no more problems, after I clear my cache. Pages load just fine. So, I'm wondering if I'm overlooking a setting on the ICS, or if it's a Win. 7 problem. I've even changed the NIC on the dialup computer. One of the other Windows 7 computers on my network exhibits the same problem. The Ubuntu machines appear to be just fine. It's weird that this only happens when I'm using Win 7 to dial to the internet and not the XP installation, even though they are on the same machine. Any thoughts ?

I doubt that such a load on a dialup will ever work well. rolleyes

    However just in case.

Win XP uses IP 192.168.0.X for ICS.

    Win 7 uses 192.168.137.X

Check all the setting and make sure that every thing is on the same subnet.

Actually, it's worked very well for around 4 years now. We just don't all try to access the internet at the same time. Changed the IP on the Win 7 machine that's dialed in to the internet to 192.168.137.1 and that results in no internet for anyone except that machine. Changed it back to 192.168.0.1 and everyone has internet access. When booted into XP on the machine that acts as the internet gateway there are no problems.
