OK, did a quick look-through, couldn't find anything similar, so here goes.

I'm in China as a teacher, and thanks to concern over tracking what everyone says on the internet, it's very difficult to set up a wireless router.

At this school, I've had to use ICS to go from my laptop (wired to the internet) and bounce the internet signal wirelessly off a wireless router so I can get my iPod and wife's Netbook connected.

Well, there's a new teacher here with two MacBooks. Apparently, the login protocol this school uses for each computer's internet account is 802.1X, which their IT guy claims is not usable on a Mac. Only computers running Windows (and the login protocol program they give you) can connect to the school's internet.

So, there IS a WinXP based desktop in the guy's apartment. What I want to do is set up ICS this way:

Internet => WinXP Desktop, NIC 1 =>ICS with NIC 2 => DLink Wireless router => two MacBooks

Is this possible? I tried setting up ICS and manually giving an IP address to the wireless router and then the MacBooks, but no go. Do I need to just turn the router into an access point? Or something else? Thanks!

FYI: there are two possible wireless routers I can use - the DLink that was left in the guy's apartment, or he brought his AirPort with him.

Also bear in mind that the WinXP on the desktop is not a legit copy and it's also only in Chinese, so I need some very specific instructions. I'm very familiar with XP, but now and then the Chinese just throws me off. Thanks.
