    Hi all,

I am looking into having a couple of drive bays with ICY DOCK
so that I can hotswap my extra sata drives.

My problem is that I have heard the sata connectors have a limited plug/unplug lifespan of only about 50 times!!

Is this correct and if so how do the removable drivebays in the ICY DOCK work??

Also can I remove them and insert them whilst Vista is up and running like I can with my USB disks ?
Or do I need to 'saftley remove hardware' like in XP?

Thanks for any guidance with this people.

They have their own proprietary connectors, the hard drive connects to the primary removable enclosure which you have to connect once then the primary enclosure connects to the main enclosure which will only wear out the icey dock connectors, not your main sata ports.
