IDE Adapter Card Doesn't See IDE HHD

:waveHello people ... at ease:major I have this new mobo that doesn't have an IDE slot so in order for me to get the data from my old IDE hard drive to transfer to my new SATA hhd I had to purchase this card ... The software that came with the card was useless so I when to JMicro site, the card manufacture and got the driver and installed it. That got the device manager to see the card, but my ide harddrive is no where to be found. Windows doesn't see it. The card ID is JM363. It's a PCI-E Serial ATAll Host Controller Card.

Any of you know what's going on? Or what I can do to get window to see this harddrive?:confusedrolleyes

Not sure if this will help or not, but I had an issue with an adapter card akin to your card, but not the exact type. Turned out there was a jumper block on the card that was capped wrong. This was on a much older card then yours though, so it might not apply to your situation.

You might also check how your drive is jumpered . . . perhaps it has to be set as a slave drive?

I am sooooooo :-o I used a different card and discovered I didn't have the power hooked up to the hard drive.:zzzrolleyes:-D

Oh well it happens to the best of us I'm sure. :wave
