I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but just incase someone here knows a little trick.........I got a new mobo etc, when I get round to rigging it up I want to use my old HDD (can't afford new ones for a month or so) I have IDE drives, I would like to hook up 2 of them but the mobo only has 1 IDE connector, I know I can hook up 2 drives but I need my dvd drive (also ide) hooked up, it there any way to hook up 3 IDE drives to 1 mobo connector?

Perhaps an IDE to SATA converter would be more cost effective.

The only thing I can find on this is- http://pinouts.ru/HD/AtaInternal_pinout.shtml

"One occasionally finds cables that allow for the connection of three ATA devices onto one IDE channel, but in this case one drive remains read-only (this type of configuration virtually never occurs)."

Might also freak out your IDE controller

Yep, that was the next thing I looked up, I have no idea why I didn't simply think of that. Brain not working too well of late obviously.

    Thanks guys.
