IDe hard drives

I'm pretty sure I already know the answer to this but just incase someone here knows a little trick.........I got a new mobo etc, when I get round to rigging it up I want to use my old HDD (can't afford new ones for a month or so) I have IDE drives, I would like to hook up 2 of them but the mobo only has 1 IDE connector, I know I can hook up 2 drives but I need my dvd drive (also ide) hooked up, it there any way to hook up 3 IDE drives to 1 mobo connector?

 

No. To connect three IDE drives, you could get an IDE Controller Card, such as:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815124022. Install it in a PCI slot and then you'll have the capability to connect more than two IDE drives.

Perhaps an IDE to SATA converter would be more cost effective.

Might also freak out your IDE controller

 

Yep, that was the next thing I looked up, I have no idea why I didn't simply think of that. Brain not working too well of late obviously.
