Just wondering when I should get concerned. Its running between 36c and 40c at the moment. Summer isn't here yet and I have a feeling this will go way up when its 105 outside.

that's fine, nothing to worry about. If I were you I'd get some case fans in there, and maybe a new heatsink. that should keep the little tacker cool. :)

Thanks Cashy. I have 2 fans intake on the front of the aluminum case, 2 rear outakes , one on the side window blowing in, and a the retail combo on the cpu. Plus the dual fan onthe antec true 430 pwr supply. We are having the airconditioner changed out on the house soon. I am sure that will help LOL.

that's perfectly fine, I've been hearing about how the new cores run hotter, seems the new prescott core routinely runs up into the 50's and 60's.

after a few mins of gaming, looks like we jump up to 45-46c. This temp range still ok? Guess I am used to my old 1.4amd and it only got to 40c after gaming.

    i hope that's farenheit!?

my p4 2.8 runs at a steady 18 degrees C after i put two more fans in, to make it an even 4.
i don't have a cpu fan or anything, i dunno what one to get?
u can't hurt it by running it at too low a temp. can you?

actually, you can, but that temp is something like -250*C (yes, minus).
temps you can only get with phase-change, don't worry, your temps are incredibly low as they are.

Ya Monty, 18'C is Very good since its air cooled. Like fleppen was saying about phase-change, some people run refridgeration units on their Cpu's and get them down to -100's celcius for overclocking. Im gonna have to try that some day.

If you're getting under 50C on your prescott, you're very lucky. The prescott core runs incredibly hot, and uses a lot of power. I always recommend getting a northwood if at all possible.
