Ideas for graphics card upgrade

    I'm looking to upgrade my video card. I'm not a big gamer but I do some photo editing. I have a Dell 4400, 1gb ram, P4, 1.6ghz, windows xp, digital monitor. My present card is an ati rage pro 16mb. in a agp slot.(yes, I can hear you laughing) I need your ideas for brands,series etc, for a suitable card.

    I would get a ati 9600 or 9800 (in that range) 128 meg of memory, easy on the checkbook, and for your needs perfect

    I checked those cards out. They seem like they will be everything I would want and probably more. Thanks for the imput.

    One more question. Is it best to stay with the ati brand name or is it ok to buy from a secondary brand?

    either way is fine I had a sapphire 9600 for years that now resides in a friends computer and is still chugging right along
