IE 11 won't diplay PDF files

Using WIN 7 64bit.
Up graded to IE 11 fro IE 9. Now pdf. files will not display.
Don't have a clue.

Have the same problem on another older computer that I use for back up.
When I went to IE 11 I can no longer display restaurant menus, etc.

They will display in Firefox.

Any help is appreciated.

 

What PDF reader do you have installed? What happens when you try to open a PDF inside IE?

 

Using adobe XI.
I get a blank screen with a black circle with a slash in the upper left corner o the screen.

 

well, I'm going to suggest uninstalling Adobe Reader and installing Foxit Reader. When installing it, select Custom Install and uncheck anything that is bundled with Foxit Reader. If you see a prompt during installation and it asks whether you want to view PDFs in your browser, answer Yes.

I'm using Foxit Reader and can view PDFs in IE 11.

I think the best solution is to dump this junk they call IE 11 and return to IE9

 

Well, returning to IE9 may solve the problem. I read one online discussion where someone with this problem did just that and then they were able to view PDFs again in IE.

I have 3 computers here, 2 running Windows 7 and 1 running Windows 8.1, all with IE11; I have Foxit Reader installed on all of them and I can view PDFs inside IE on all of them. So, I'm puzzled by your problem. However, this is not an uncommon problem. A search on pdf not opening in ie 11 or unable to view pdf in ie 11 yields many findings. I've seen various complaints about IE11 and compatibility lately at work. Sometimes it's a site's cross scripting, or the fact that the site won't display the page properly with IE11 under Windows 8.1, seemingly because it's just old. Had an issue with an AOL mail page this week that rendered fine with XP at our workstation, but didn't display properly on a laptop right next to it.
