Hi,I am not sure if I am re posting this but the last one I made never showed up.
I am looking for help with IE 1394 not recognize devices in win 7 64 bit.I have updated the drivers to legacy, the device manager says everything is working properly.I even went out yesterday and bought a new pci 1394 card and it still wont recognize my canon dv cam or my focusrite saffire pro 14 external audio card.I have a clean pc that I checked with all the software recommended by this site. I sure hope someone can help me resolve this issue.
    Thanks

Thanks, the sound card worked fine on my system for about two years.I just recently started this,it also used to recognize my cam,the cam is a canon hv20.here is a little more info on my system.Intel quad q9650 processor,8 GB corsair gaming ram, asus striker II motherboard.I just put a brand new inland pro pci 1394 card in two days ago and it still doesn't work.

I am starting to think this may be a win 7 os problem.

    Hi

Just a thought and if you had older hardware as in the PC1394 cards, then uninstall all drivers and software associated with these cards, then shutdown and unplug the cards, reboot and then run CCleaner and its cleaner and registry tools (run the registry one until no items are found for cleaning), then shutdown and plug in your PCI1394 card and then reboot and install the drivers again.

Also in device manager do you have any yellow ! marks and if so by what device?
Is your Windows 7 fully upto date with SP1 and all updates?

Thanks for the ideas,I have been using ccleaner for years.I will try what you said though,I ran the registry cleaner part and always keep the cookies cleaned out,but have not taken the cards out then ran it.I will give it a try later or tomorrow.
    Thanks again.

Everything in device manager is fine with no yellow ! next to them.windows is up to date.I am thinking of just going out and buying a usb audio interface.I have to get my sound up and running asap. :-o
