I keep getting the following errors from IE and about the only resolution I have come up with is to uninstall and reinstall. I have checked Microsoft’s help forum and was unable to find anything useful.
I can boot in safe mode and not get the problem, I have narrowed it down to a possible conflict with two programs: Earthlink software (their tech support is extremely lame) or Microsoft Office 2000 startup (My Microsoft software is OEM and I my DELL support has “run out”, so this is my best support option).

    OS: WIN 98 (not SE)

    drgnrider,

See if this stops the error messages:

    1. EXPLORER caused a segment not present fault
    in module DIBENG.DLL at 000f:000009b8.

Solution: Obtain the latest driver for your video adapter from the vendor or use Windows’ standard VGA display driver. To do this, open Control Panel and double-click Display. On the Settings tab, click the Advanced button. On the Adapter tab, click the Change button. Click Next, then check Display A List Of All The Drivers In a Specific Location, So You Can Select The Driver You Want, and click Next. Check Show All Hardware. In the Manufacturers list, select Standard Display Types. In the Models list, select Standard Display Adapter (VGA). Click Next, follow the instructions, and restart your PC.

The above solution might stop both error messages. Try it and see before going on to solution #2.

    2. SYSDOC32 caused a segment not present fault
    in module DIBENG.DLL at 000f:000009ad.

Solution:This file is associated with Norton Disk Doctor from Norton Utilities and runs Automatically at startup. Click Start > Run and type msconfig and click OK, this brings up your system configuration utility. Click on the Statup tab and in the list of startup processes look for SYSDOC32 and uncheck the box. Click Apply > OK and restart your computer.

    Let us know.
