Well, you can always wait till Nov 1st, when it becomes a critical update.

I've installed it on my work computer, but still use FF. Mostly I downloaded it just in case someone had a question about it.

Tricks? I don't know of any program that has tricks.

I think the "trick" with IE7 is that tech support sites such as Comcast and McAfee pretend the new release doesn't exist.

    Challenging. Not.

Big fat yes. Im very impressed with IE7 and I really wasnt expecting it being this good. Ive used Opera for at least 3 years now with a sprinkling of Firefox for the last year. Ive been using IE7 exclusively for a couple days now and am amazed at the speed. I would ike it to be a bit more customizable tho.

    HI!
I was a little worried about installing IE7, but I gotta tell ya....I really like it!
So far I've not had a single problem with it and now I can hardly wait to get Vista!!!
Regardless of what a lot of folks may say about Microsoft...I think Windows is A-OK!
    :D

    I agree there.

I love vista (5744), but still use FF, instead of IE7+. :) In fact, when I'm at work, I hate using xp now.

I'll have to wait until I get broadband, or pick up a copy in a PC magazine CD. Mags should have it soon on their CD/DVD's. Bazza

Install of IE 7 went great, no problems, of course I disabled my firewall and antivirus before install.

Am pleased so far with IE7. Used IE6 mainly for manual updates from MS. Used FF, Opera, and Maxthon. IE7 has got some promise.

Available add-ons make IE7 customizable. Tabbed browsing is great.

Never thought I'd say it, but MS has done a good job. Am thinking of using IE7 as my default browser (now that's a shocker!)

'bout time MS caught up with the rest of the world!

In my opinion, IE7 is definitely worth installing.

By customization I mean being able to move various toolbars more to my liking. The layout isnt bad at default, but it seems only the links bar and the menu bar are able to be moved or shutoff. Thats really the only fault I can find. Im pretty amazed the how responsive this browser is. It actually feels lightweight/non-bloated.

Me too. Actually for the last 3 days its all Ive used. I never expected this.

Now this is very encouraging to hear (or read as the case may be). I've been staying away from IE7 due to lack of info and general FEAR from the problems some people seem to have (and because of IE6's reputation). I've been using UltraBrowser, FF, FFPortable, and PhaseOut, and IE6 just for menial crap like updates, quick email checks, and what-not. Maybe I'll give IE7 a shot and see what happens.
BTW- is MS supporting it? Meaning- is MS releasing patches and updates and fixes for IE7, or is it still 'unofficial' and in beta stages????????????

It's finished...no more beta. When I installed it, it downloaded 'updates', but they weren't 'security'or 'priority' updates...like it had vulnerabilities.

I have installed it today and it works great, I love it and I probably wont change back soon to Opera or FF.

But I still need to see if the DoD bug has been worked out...as soon as Im done downloading the game ;)

Have to say I still prefer firefox but I us ie7 as Spyware Doctors protection at the moment is only compatible with I.E. (Site guard, popup blocker, browser guard & cookie guard) Way I see it theres no point having all this protection if I can't use it. In saying that if SWD is ever upgraded to protect firefox as well I would more than likley switch back.

You can also add the menu bar by right clicking an empty space ...like next to the last tab... and select Menu Bar

    I don't care for it....I use FF & IE6
FF looks just like I want it to........ drag & drop.
IE6 pretty close to what I want.

IE7 has some nice features above IE6 ....but I don't like the top bar.
    I don't need 18' inches of address.

With goole, 10 links folders, forward-back, stop, refresh, home, history,
file, edit, view, favarites, tools, help (default) address bar about 8 inches.
I only use two row's the rest is for viewing.
IE7 I need to use 3 rows and the top row is just a waste of space.

    Perfect browser
    IE7 speed, FF drag & drop :)

I will agree on it's being a tad too 'big', but here's how I'm dealing with that:
I get where I'm headed and hit F11 for Full Screen and it's all web page.
    http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y176/WhiteRose47/IE7fullscreen.gif

If I want to change tabs I just put the pointer at the top of the screen and I get this minimal toolbar to do searches or go to another tabbed site.

I hit F11 to get back in Normal View to get to my favorites when I need them, use the print, mail or any other button I need and I'm happy.

...of course these screenshots have obviously been resized to fit here.
    :)
