Ever since I upgraded to IE 8 a few months back, my browser locks up whenever I get the ActiveX pop-up bar at the top.

Then, after a few moments a screen loads with this message:

I've been hoping Microsoft would provide a patch via Windows Update but no such luck as of yet. What's causing this issue and is there a resolution?

    Thanks! ;)

Hi j8son, do you have any addons installed?

If so did you install them since you upgraded from 7 to 8, or did you transfer all your settings?

Yes, there are several installed however, none of them personally by me. These were add-ons installed by various programs over the last 8-12 months of use (IE: MS Office, Adobe, etc...).

I have the same problem on both my Desktop computer as well as my Laptop (which both run similar programs / add-ons).

    Hi j8son.

Got to >> tools >> Manage add-ons >> and highlight each option and see if the "update" button becomes active.

You should also notice a lil drop down menu that lets you select between "Addons that have been used" and "addons that are currently being used".

    Check both lists for updates.
