   I am, constantly getting the message "Internet explorer has stopped working" Than I have to shift to Firefox. Have Win 7 Intel i7, 8 ram 1T hd.Any ideas appreciated.

   First step: navigate to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If that IE runs without crashing then you'll know if an add-on is causing the problem.
