Do you know what this is?

I am running Windows XP. IE version 6.0

    iexplore.exe Application Error

the instruction at "0x066a454d" referenced memory at "0x066a454d". The memory could not be "read".

Click on OK to terminate program

It seems to show when I am trying to either shut down or restart my computer.

I also notice my computer is "hanging" a lot. I've already called my cable company and they feel it's my computer.

Have you tried un/re-installing IE? (Probably not a hardware issue)

To do so, please do the following:

    1. Open 'Control Panel'
    2. Double-click the 'Add/Remove Programs' icon (or single-click the link)
    3. Hit alt+w (or click 'Add/Remove Windows Components')
    4. On the 'Windows Components Wizard' dialog, uncheck the box next to 'Internet Explorer'
    5. Click 'Next'

Windows will now uninstall Internet Explorer. It is the same process to re-install, only check the box this time around.

There is also a IE repair utility called IEFix that may be able to help your situation.
