IE closes

Hi,

I'm having some problems with IE 8.0. It closes everytime when I try to write something into search line (except the main Google search line), doesn't matter whether on Google, Facebook or any other site. But I can normally type in URL line. If I type into search line, sometimes I get a message about IE occuring a problem and that it'll have to close, sometimes there's no message and the program just closes. It's pretty annoying since I almost can't browse. Especcialy the top right searh line (that is always there in
IE 8.0) - if I type in a letter, for example "c", IE closes. My logs are clean (check here). Thanks for help.

 

Try IE8 without add-ons.
Start, accessories, system tools, Internet Explorer, no add-ons.

Did you install 8 or did it come on machine. If you installed, you can remove it in add/remove programs and it will revert back to 7.

I'm unable to look at your logs from this puter, but if you are running Vista or 7, slightly different, you would find add/remove under Programs and features I believe. :wave:wave

 

Same thing even without add-ons.

I'm using Windows XP Professional and I installed IE 8. Guess I'll have to revert back to 7. But does that mean that the problem will remain even with new version of IE that might come in future?

 

I would suggest uninstall it from your add/remove, reboot, and either decline the update altogether or reinstall and when you get to the setup menus, decline or say no to ALL options and offers.
