IE Crash w/Little Squares Where Letters Should Be

Dear Major Geeks:

I'm So Glad I have gotten to your site to post this question.

IE has repeatedly crashed, locked up and blue error screens. Three hours ago I could not log on to this site. Web sites I tried to pull up had little squares where the letters should have been.

Im running Windows 98 (have all current updates), 800mz cpu, with a cable modem. Last night through today I used Adware, Spy Bot, AVG free, a2 and I defraged my computer with diskeeper lite. I re-ran AVG when it happened but it did not find anything with the exception of:

result: Trojan horse Downloader.Agent.3.BO Infected, Embedded Object


Also, I got the error message:

Well, its "Geek to Me" . I wonder if it is a virus at work or if I have a corupt Windows 98 or maybe it the Cable Modem. ?????

Yes. I use the Disk Clean up.

I think it is part of Windows 98. It is set to remove Temp Internet Files, Recycle bin and Download Program Files.

I use it first and then use the ad ware, spy bot, avg free, a2 and finally the Diskepper lite.
